Job Summary

Abay Bank S.C. is recruiting for seven positions in administration, engineering, building management systems, mechanical maintenance, plumbing, and electrical services. Qualified applicants can apply in person at the bank's head office in Addis Ababa before October 23, 2026.

Job Description

Abay Bank S.C. has announced a new job vacancy for qualified and competent applicants in various administrative, engineering, and technical positions. Interested candidates who meet the requirements are invited to apply before the application deadline.

Abay Bank was officially established on July 14, 2010, after fulfilling the necessary requirements of the National Bank of Ethiopia, and commenced full banking operations on November 3, 2010. The Bank provides financial services to various economic sectors, including trade, agriculture, industry, transportation, construction, and real estate.

Available Positions

Position 1: Administrative Assistant

📍 Addis Ababa💼 Full-time🎓 BA Degree or Diploma in Secretarial Science and Office Management, Administrative Service Management, or a related field.🧰 BA Degree holders: At least 2 years of relevant work experience. Diploma holders: At least 4 years of relevant work experience.

Position 2: BMS Specialist

📍 Head Office💼 Contract🎓 B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering (System Control, Automation, or Computer stream) or a related field.🧰 A minimum of 4 years of experience operating and programming active Building Management Systems (BMS).

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in automation control loops and Direct Digital Controllers (DDC).
  • Knowledge of smart sensor calibration and instrumentation.
  • Experience in network-based system administration.

Position 3: Senior Mechanical Engineer

📍 Head Office💼 Contract🎓 M.Sc. or B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.🧰 M.Sc. holders: At least 5 years of experience in high-rise mechanical facility services. B.Sc. holders: At least 7 years of experience in high-rise mechanical facility services.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience managing central HVAC systems, including chillers, VRF networks, and air handling units.
  • Experience with high-speed elevators and escalators.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure firefighting and suppression systems, water pumps, and related equipment.

Position 4: Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Control Stream

📍 Head Office💼 Contract🎓 M.Sc. or B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Control stream) or a related field.🧰 M.Sc. holders: At least 5 years of experience managing electrical power distribution in high-rise buildings. B.Sc. holders: At least 7 years of experience managing electrical power distribution in high-rise buildings.

Required Qualifications

  • Practical experience with medium- and low-voltage (MV/LV) main distribution boards.
  • Knowledge of synchronized power systems, generators, and automatic transfer switches (ATS).
  • Experience with backup diesel generators, bus bars, and related electrical systems.

Position 5: Mechanical Equipment Maintenance Technician

📍 Head Office💼 Contract🎓 Diploma or TVET Level IV in Mechanical Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Machine Equipment Maintenance, or a related field.🧰 At least 4 years of experience as a mechanical maintenance technician in high-rise buildings.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electromechanical equipment, including HVAC components, high-pressure pumps, and standby generators.
  • Experience in mechanical equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance.

Position 6: Plumbing & Sanitary Technician

📍 Head Office💼 Contract🎓 Diploma or TVET Level IV in Plumbing and Sanitary or a related field.🧰 At least 4 years of experience maintaining plumbing, sanitary, drainage, and water-supply installations.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with high-pressure booster pump stations, drainage and waste stacks, and roof water reservoirs.
  • Knowledge of isolation valve mapping.
  • Ability to identify, diagnose, locate, and repair plumbing and sanitary system failures in buildings.

Position 7: Electrician

📍 Head Office💼 Contract🎓 Diploma or TVET Level IV in Electricity, Building Electrical Installation (BEI), or a related field.🧰 At least 4 years of experience as an electrical maintenance technician in high-rise buildings.

Required Qualifications

  • Expertise in Building Electrical Installation (BEI).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical wiring plans.
  • Experience troubleshooting floor distribution boards and maintaining internal lighting control modules.
  • Ability to diagnose, locate, and repair electrical breakdowns and system failures in buildings.
